How to report an error
Contact us through the media inquiry form (select "Correction") or the contact page.
Review
Reports are reviewed by an editor and, when needed, a subject-matter reviewer. Impact is classified as Minor, Material, Major, or Retraction Required.
Correction notices
Material and Major corrections receive a visible correction notice on the page. We do not silently overwrite published errors. Retracted content is clearly marked as retracted; the original text is preserved.
Updated editions
When an update materially changes findings, we publish a new edition and link the original and new versions to each other.
Research reports
Every research report includes a corrections section. Even the smallest data correction is recorded there.
